We are, ALBINO!, winner of the 2005 SF Music Awards for "Best World" band.
We are a 12-piece afrobeat band with a mix of musicians from west africa, cuba, and the states. We haved toured extensively (nationally) over the last couple of years but are limited to weekend tours for the summer and fall. We play music inspired by Fela Kuti and the Africa 70 and have mostly original songs.
Albino! is a tight community who has the ability, energy, and desire to connect with our audience and share this music. We have authentic flavor and are looking for an experienced frontman or woman who can sing AND take the front stage to capture our audience. A huge plus if you play conga or clave. Our sax player also sings and will be co-fronting the band as well. Please be available as this band is a commitment (we rehearse once a week on wednesdays).
